Cora + Garret’s Norton Shores Elopement
In Cora and Garret’s initial consultation, they told me that they wanted to elope prior to their actual wedding, with or without the COVID-19 pandemic. I like to think that they single-handedly started the “elope now, party later” mentality that we’ve all adopted during the pandemic. #TrendSetters
But in all seriousness, them telling me this from the beginning really just signaled the importance of their relationship to them - being married is the goal at the end of all of this anyway, right?
They started the day by exchanging private vows on the beach in Norton Shores, Michigan, with no one present but their photographer, their sweet pup, Kiyah, and myself (for my main jobs - coordination, wardrobe assistance and puppy maintenance). After a beautiful afternoon together, the two met their parents back at their home in Grand Rapids, Michigan for a short ceremony where their officiant married them via zoom. They finished the evening with a fabulous dinner out in downtown Grand Rapids.
This gorgeous, special, intimate day was such an honor to be a part of, and I can’t wait to show you part two of this couple’s celebration in August of 2021.
